About Texas Health Agents

A Texas-licensed insurance agency, built for how Texans actually shop for coverage in 2026.

How we work

Texas Health Agents is a Texas-licensed insurance agency that operates 100% remotely. We don’t run an office you visit in person. We serve Texas residents the way most Texans actually want to shop for health insurance in 2026: by phone, video meeting, and email, on a schedule that fits their day.

We hold a current Texas Department of Insurance producer license (#1816327), which authorizes us to quote, recommend, enroll, and service health, Medicare, dental, vision, and ancillary insurance products for Texas residents in every Texas ZIP code. We are appointed with the major Texas carriers including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Humana, Ameritas, Delta Dental, Mutual of Omaha, Renaissance, and Spirit Dental.

What that means for you: the carrier selection, licensing, and accountability of a Texas-specialized agency, delivered remotely. No commute, no waiting room, no pressure. Quotes are free and unbinding.

What we do

Texas Health Agents helps individual Texans, families, self-employed Texans, and Texas small-business owners find, compare, and enroll in health insurance. Our work falls into seven product areas:

  • Texas Marketplace (ACA) health insurance. On-exchange ACA plans with premium tax credit eligibility review, plus off-Marketplace alternatives when they make sense.
  • Medicare. Medicare Supplement (Medigap), Medicare Advantage, and Part D prescription drug plans for Texans turning 65, moving from employer coverage, or comparing their current plan during Annual Enrollment.
  • Short-term health insurance. Gap coverage between jobs, between ACA enrollment periods, or for Texans who need temporary coverage without ACA restrictions.
  • Dental insurance. Individual and family dental plans from every major Texas carrier — BCBSTX, Ameritas, Delta Dental, Mutual of Omaha, Renaissance, Cigna, Humana, UnitedHealthcare, and Spirit Dental.
  • Vision insurance. Standalone vision plans and bundled dental-plus-vision options.
  • Small-group employer coverage. Group health, dental, and ancillary benefits for Texas businesses with 2–50 employees.
  • Ancillary products. Accident insurance, critical illness, hospital indemnity, and similar supplemental plans that pair with a primary policy.

Why remote

We chose a 100% remote model deliberately. Three reasons:

1. It’s how most Texans already want to shop. Quoting health insurance is fundamentally a conversation about your health, your budget, your family, and your doctors — a conversation that works just as well on a scheduled video call as it does in a conference room. Most of our clients prefer the flexibility of doing it from their kitchen table at 7 PM rather than taking an afternoon off work.

2. It lets us serve every corner of Texas. A physical office in Dallas doesn’t help a self-employed contractor in Midland or a retiring teacher in Tyler. Remote means our service footprint is the entire state — every Texas ZIP code, every metro, every rural county.

3. It keeps overhead honest. We don’t charge clients for office rent we don’t need. Agent time goes into staying current on Texas carrier filings, network changes, and regulatory updates — which is what actually drives better recommendations for you.

Our Texas carrier appointments

We are contracted (“appointed” in industry terms) with every major carrier writing health, Medicare, dental, and vision business for Texas residents, including:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas (BCBSTX)
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • Aetna / CVS Health
  • Cigna
  • Humana
  • Ambetter from Superior HealthPlan
  • Molina Healthcare of Texas
  • Oscar Health
  • Wellpoint / Amerigroup Texas
  • Ameritas Dental
  • Delta Dental of Texas
  • Mutual of Omaha
  • Renaissance Dental
  • Spirit Dental
  • VSP Vision
  • EyeMed

Because we’re independent and appointed with all of the above, we never steer clients to a single carrier. When we quote your plan options, you see real premiums from every carrier that writes your ZIP and age band — not just the one paying the highest commission.

What a first call with us looks like

A first conversation with Texas Health Agents is a 20-minute scheduled call or video meeting. Here’s what happens:

  1. You tell us about your situation. Age, household size, ZIP, income range (for ACA subsidy eligibility), any doctors or prescriptions you need to keep in-network, and what’s driving the conversation — open enrollment, a job change, turning 65, losing employer coverage, or shopping for a specific product like dental.
  2. We run live quotes across every applicable carrier. No sales-pitch. You see the top three to five options side by side with premium, deductible, max out-of-pocket, network, and notable plan features.
  3. We give you a recommendation, and the reason behind it. Not a pitch — a reasoned ranking based on your priorities. You’re free to pick a different option than the one we recommend, and we’ll tell you the honest trade-off either way.
  4. If you’re ready, we enroll on the call. Most enrollments take 10–15 minutes. If you’re not ready, there’s no pressure — we send you the comparison by email and you come back when you’re ready.

First calls are free and unbinding. Insurance agents are paid by carriers at the time of enrollment, not by clients — so there’s no fee for quoting, recommending, or comparing plans.

What we don’t do

Being clear about scope matters. We don’t:

  • Sell products we aren’t licensed for. We hold a Texas producer license for life and health lines. We don’t sell property/casualty, auto, home, or commercial liability insurance — if you need those, we can refer you to a P&C agent.
  • Work as a captive agent for a single carrier. Some Texas “agents” only sell one carrier’s products. We’re independent — we have no volume quota with any single carrier and no incentive to push one brand.
  • Operate a physical walk-in office. Every interaction is phone, video, or email.
  • Serve non-Texas residents. If you live in another state, we’ll refer you to a licensed agent in your state. A license means accountability to the state insurance department, and accountability only works when the agent is licensed where the client lives.

How to verify us

Before you share your SSN, date of birth, or health information with any insurance agency — including ours — you should be able to verify the license independently. For Texas Health Agents:

  • Our Texas Department of Insurance producer license is #1816327.
  • Look us up directly at the TDI agent/agency license lookup.
  • If anything looks off — expired license, name mismatch, complaints filed — that’s exactly the information TDI makes publicly available so you can make an informed decision.

We encourage this kind of due diligence on any insurance agent you work with, Texas or elsewhere.
