Gusto

✓ Registered Gusto broker partner

Texas Health Agents is a registered Gusto broker partner. If your company already runs payroll and onboarding in Gusto, we can be assigned to your account and manage your group health benefits, open enrollment, and compliance right inside it. No new system for your team to learn, no duplicate data entry, and no extra cost to you.

What we handle inside Gusto

Once we are appointed as your broker of record and assigned to your Gusto account, your benefits stop being a separate chore and start living where your payroll already does:

  • Plan setup and open enrollment. We build your medical, dental, vision, life, and disability offerings in Gusto with the right contribution rules and eligibility classes, then run open enrollment start to finish.
  • New hires and terminations. Onboarding a new employee in Gusto triggers their benefits eligibility. We make sure elections reach the carrier and that terminations are processed cleanly, including COBRA notices.
  • Deductions that actually match. Because benefits and payroll live in the same system, deductions sync automatically. That alone eliminates the most common source of payroll corrections we see at small companies.
  • Carrier and billing cleanup. When a carrier invoice does not match your census, we chase it down. Your controller should not be spending an afternoon reconciling a premium bill.
  • Compliance filings. ACA reporting where applicable, Section 125 documents, COBRA administration, and required employee notices, tracked against their deadlines.

Why this matters for your team

Gusto is excellent at payroll and onboarding. What it does not include is a licensed advisor to tell you which plan actually fits your workforce, negotiate at renewal, or answer the phone when an employee has a claim problem. That is the gap we fill.

  • One system, one source of truth. Census, deductions, and elections stop drifting apart.
  • Employees self serve. Your staff enroll from the Gusto app they already have on their phone.
  • Full market access at renewal. We are independent, so we shop every Texas carrier we represent rather than defaulting to whatever is easiest to quote.
  • A real person on the phone. Your HR contact and your employees reach a named advisor, not a support queue.

You keep Gusto. You just get a benefits team with it.

Switching platforms is disruptive and we are not going to ask you to do it. Your managers keep the login they know, your employees keep the app they already use, and we take over the benefits and compliance work behind it. There is no additional fee for this. It is part of how we work as your broker.

Not sure whether Gusto is the right home for your benefits, or whether a dedicated enrollment platform would serve you better? We will give you a straight answer. See our full Texas group insurance overview for how Employee Navigator compares.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do we have to leave Gusto to work with you?

No. That is the point of being a broker partner. You keep Gusto exactly as it is. We are assigned to your account as your broker of record and take over the benefits side.

Does this cost extra?

No. Our compensation comes from the carrier as a standard commission built into the premium, the same as any broker. You do not pay us a separate fee for administering benefits in Gusto.

What is a broker of record change and is it disruptive?

It is a one page form you sign that names us as your agent with the carrier. Your plans, rates, network, and ID cards do not change at all. It typically takes effect within a few weeks and your employees will not notice anything.

Can you help if we are mid plan year?

Yes. We can take over servicing at any point in the year and start preparing your renewal analysis well before your effective date. You do not need to wait for open enrollment.

What if Gusto benefits are not competitive for our group?

We will tell you. Gusto brokers plans in some states and not others, and the options available through any single channel are not always the best fit. As an independent Texas agency we can quote your group outside Gusto and still administer everything inside it.
